Built for the media you work with.

Camera originals and intermediates
BRAW, R3D, ProRes, DNxHD/DNxHR, CineForm, MXF, and specialized archive formats. See the format families.
Libraries across locations
Connect drives, SMB shares, S3 storage, and Dropbox directly. Keep the source library where your workflow needs it.
Finding the right footage
Search by codec, frame rate, bitrate, audio properties, color space, camera, lens, and location where that metadata is available.
Review copies with split audio
Listen to the left or right channel in both ears, mix to mono, or swap the stereo pair. Useful when one side contains timecode audio.

From finding a clip to pressing play

A practical view into your archive.

Connect the library.

Use native S3 and Dropbox connections alongside local drives and SMB/NAS. Supported Dropbox team spaces let you reach shared production material.

ShowShark indexes and streams your sources. Your Mac runs the Server; the Player handles browsing and viewing.

Inspect the material.

Search across technical properties and open file, track, camera, lens, and sidecar metadata. Match footage by frame rate or color space without relying on movie-style catalog metadata.

Geographic and proximity queries are available when the files supply location metadata.

Hear the right channel.

Choose Left Only, Right Only, Mono Mix, or Swap Left and Right for the decoded stereo pair. Change the monitoring mode during supported playback without restarting the stream.

Normal audio-track selection is also available. See audio monitoring details.

Check the library.

Run extended playback validation to find failures before a viewing session. Validation saves its progress and yields to active playback.

Send maintenance results and server alerts to Slack or a generic webhook, alongside the notification options included in Home.

Playback details.

BRAW and R3D
Use Default playback in the native apps on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac. The Server decodes the source. Original, web-player, and Apple Watch playback are not available for these formats.
Remote RAW files
BRAW may need a complete source download to the Server before playback. RED can read remote clips through the SDK’s custom I/O path. Startup depends on the clip and connection.
Audio monitoring
Works with Default playback, offline packages, and supported Direct File playback. It does not route arbitrary source channels before downmixing, and is not applied to Remux HLS or external AirPlay video.
Metadata and validation
ARRI .ari/.arx support is for sidecar metadata, not ARRIRAW playback. Extended validation checks ShowShark playback paths.
